NEW WEBSITE: Solid Surface Surplus

Solid Surface Surplus

Tucson Arizona is the home of a new company called "Solid Surface Surplus" started by Kyle Carpenter and his Father. Surprising to me, they are not in the countertop farbication business but rather the internet-based sales of surplus solid surface materials.

Solid Surface Surplus www.solidsurfacesurplus.com features a long list of Corian, Straron and soon will offer other brands.  Prices are prominently displayed and the “add to cart” button is hard to miss. This site cuts through all the extra nonsense and gives the customer exactly what they need, a simple well layed out display of remnant sized pieces of solid surface material.

The site is in its infancy, but is fully functional. It will calculate the price, including tax and shipping. The back end functionality of the site is ready to go. All pieces of material are crated for protection and shipped via UPS Ground.

We discussed the future of Solid Surface Surplus to include product from fabricators around the country. I personally feel that having a place to list of material would be a great way to get rid of excess stock. Carpenter envisions a central location for all fabricators and maybe even distributors to list material, kind of the Ebay of solid surface.
